DGP confirms Ashish Kumar Singh resumed duty on June 3

Bhubaneswar, June 28: Reacting to the Odisha Home Department's inquiry about the leave status of IPS officer Ashish Kumar Singh, Director General of Police (DGP) Arun Kumar Sarangi clarified today that Singh resumed duty on June 3 following his one-month leave.
"The government granted Ashish Kumar Singh leave from May 4 to June 2. He rejoined duty on June 3. He is currently working in the office of the Intelligence Directorate, which should have sent his joining letter to our office. This is routine correspondence. Typically, the letter is sent to the Home Department from our office. I will investigate why the letter has not been dispatched," DGP Sarangi explained to reporters.
DGP Sarangi also mentioned that Singh has attended several meetings since resuming duty, including one on June 17 concerning New Criminal Law.
Earlier on Thursday, the Home Department had written to the DGP seeking information on Singh’s leave status.
