Puri prepares for Rath Yatra amid enhanced security

Bhubaneswar, June 26: The famous Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath and his siblings will be held on July 7 in Puri, the holy city of Odisha. This year, the festival will span two days to accommodate several rituals, including Nabajauban Darshan, Netrautsav, and Rath Yatra, all falling on the same day.
Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan emphasized that ensuring all rituals are performed effectively is a challenge. To maintain order and discipline during the event, several strict measures have been implemented. These decisions were finalized during the second Rath Yatra coordination committee meeting.
The two-day festival requires meticulous attention to various aspects. The meeting, chaired by Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, covered issues such as drinking water, roads, traffic, electricity, transportation, and security in detail.
Due to the potential risk of delays in the chariot-pulling ritual, administrative arrangements will be in place on both July 7 and July 8. With the Rath of the divine trinity being pulled over two days, extensive preparations have been made for security, traffic control, and management. Elaborate arrangements are planned to handle the large gathering of devotees.
