IMD predicts increased rainfall in Odisha from June 26

Bhubaneswar, June 25: Rainfall activity in Odisha is expected to increase from June 26, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The regional weather office forecasts the formation of a cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal on June 26, which will lead to heavy to very heavy rainfall in several districts from June 26 to June 28.
Based on the latest IMD reports, Odisha districts are set to experience rainfall for the next five days.
Additionally, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely in various parts of the state. The IMD has issued warnings for thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds, reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph.
A yellow rainfall warning has been issued for nine districts: Khordha, Nayagarh, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Ganjam, Rayagada, Jharsuguda, and Sundergarh. In response to the IMD's heavy rainfall prediction, the Odisha government has alerted all district collectors.
