BJP MP Naba Charan Majhi to take oath in Santali in Lok Sabha
Bhubaneswar, June 22: BJP MP from Mayurbhanj, Naba Charan Majhi, will take his oath in the Lok Sabha in the Santali language.
Previously, in 2014, BJD MP from Mayurbhanj, Ramachandra Hansdah, became the first to take the oath in Santali in the Lok Sabha. Following him, All India Trinamool Congress MP from Jhargram, West Bengal, Uma Saren, also took the oath in Santali.
Odisha MPs are set to leave for Delhi on Saturday evening to take their oaths in the Lok Sabha on June 24. On this occasion, Mayurbhanj MP Majhi will take his oath in Santali, aiming to protect and preserve tribal dialects.
The special session of the 18th Lok Sabha will begin on June 24 with the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected MPs, followed by the election of the Lok Sabha Speaker on June 26.
President Droupadi Murmu will address a joint sitting of both Houses on June 27.
