Newborn found dead in hospital toilet in Odisha
Bhubaneswar, June 17: A newborn baby girl was found dead in a toilet at Phulbani District Headquarters Hospital on Monday.
Sanitation workers discovered the body in the Medicine Ward's toilet while cleaning the hospital premises and immediately notified hospital authorities.
Upon receiving the report, Town Police arrived at the hospital, recovered the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination.
Police have initiated an investigation to determine the newborn's identity and how she ended up in the toilet. It is suspected that someone might have abandoned the baby girl and fled the scene.
A case of unnatural death has been registered, and the investigation is underway, with authorities reviewing CCTV footage for clues.
