IMD alerts coastal districts of Odisha to brace for heat and humidity

Bhubaneswar, June 17: Amid intense hot and humid conditions affecting several districts of the state, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued new predictions, raising concerns for residents of the coastal areas in particular.
According to the latest IMD forecast, hot and humid weather conditions are expected to persist in parts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, and Kendrapara on June 18.
For June 19, the IMD predicts similar weather conditions in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
On June 20, the hot and humid conditions are likely to continue in the same districts: Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
In contrast, the IMD forecasts heavy rainfall in Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, and Bargarh districts on June 20, and in Balangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi, and Kandhamal on June 21.
