Bodies of two Odias killed in Kuwait fire return to Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Junbe 15: The mortal remains of two Odias, among 45 victims of a devastating fire in Kuwait, arrived in Bhubaneswar on Saturday morning via a special aircraft.
Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, protem Speaker Ranendra Pratap Swain, Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, and BJP President Manmohan Samal were present at the airport to pay their last respects to Santosh Kumar Gouda and Mohammad Jahur upon the aircraft's arrival.
The State government has announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh for the families of each deceased.
"We express our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of Santosh Gouda and Mohammad Jahur. Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has announced Rs 4 lakh compensation from the Chief Minister’s relief funds for the kin of each deceased," stated Deputy CM KV Singh Deo.
Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi is also scheduled to pay tributes to the departed souls. The government has arranged for tributes to be paid before the bodies are transported to their native places.
Santosh Gouda hailed from Ranajhali village in Purushotampur block, Ganjam district, and Mohammed Jahur was from Karadapalli village under Tigiria police limits, Cuttack.
The families were notified of the deaths by the Ministry of External Affairs following the identification of the bodies on Thursday.
