Odisha Police directed to enhance public interaction by CM Majhi
Bhubaneswar, June 15: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi conducted a review of the state's law and order situation on Saturday with the Director General of Police (DGP) Arun Sarangi and other senior police officials. During the meeting, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of delivering quality service to the public.
Following the meeting, DGP Arun Sarangi shared details with reporters, stating, "Our senior officials from the police headquarters in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar had a courtesy meeting with the Chief Minister today. We discussed various issues, and he inquired about the current status of the police force in the state. He particularly stressed the need for providing quality service, listening to the complaints of people visiting police stations, and treating them with respect."
The Chief Minister issued directives to ensure that police personnel behave courteously with the public and effectively address their complaints. "We will communicate these instructions to all officers to ensure they deliver quality police service," added the DGP.
Regarding the implementation of three new criminal laws set to take effect from July 1, Sarangi noted that they had briefed the Chief Minister on their preparations and he would be reviewing the matter further.
