Flight diversion strands Bhubaneswar passengers in Kolkata for hours

Bhubaneswar, June 14: In a bizarre incident, Air India Express left Bhubaneswar-bound passengers stranded for hours in Kolkata after the flight made an emergency landing in Kolkata due to bad weather conditions on Thursday night.
The flight, originally scheduled to land in Bhubaneswar, was diverted to Netaji Subhash Airport in Kolkata owing to inclement weather. Shockingly, the airline staff initially informed the passengers that they would have to travel to Bhubaneswar at their own expense.
This decision left several passengers, including children, the elderly, and women, stranded at the airport for hours.
Reports indicate that the Delhi-Bhubaneswar Air India Express flight took off from Delhi on Thursday evening but could not land in Bhubaneswar due to bad weather. Consequently, the flight was diverted to Kolkata.
After landing in Kolkata, the Air India Express staff informed the Bhubaneswar-bound passengers that they would need to arrange their own transportation to Bhubaneswar. However, following outrage from the passengers, the Air India management arranged a flight, eventually flying the passengers back to Bhubaneswar.
