PM Modi joins celebrations as BJP takes the helm in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, June 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several dignitaries witness the inaugural swearing-in ceremony of the first Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Odisha on Wednesday.
The BJP successfully secured power from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) after a strenuous and intense election campaign spearheaded by PM Modi himself.
During the campaign, PM Modi had asserted that the "expiry date of the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government in Odisha was June 4."
In numerous public addresses, the Prime Minister extended invitations to the people of Odisha to attend the oath-taking ceremony on June 10 in Bhubaneswar.
PM Modi and other senior party leaders extensively toured every corner of the state, addressing numerous public gatherings during the campaign. On Wednesday, PM Modi arrived at Bhubaneswar airport around 2:10 p.m. and proceeded to the Raj Bhawan, the residence of the Odisha Governor.
Subsequently, the Prime Minister traveled to the venue in a special convoy and fulfilled his promise by attending the swearing-in ceremony. Various cultural performances lined the route from Raj Bhawan to Janata Maidan during PM Modi's convoy movement.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, among others, graced the oath-taking ceremony.
Former Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal president, Naveen Patnaik, also attended the event.
Additionally, Chief Ministers from various states including Uttar Pradesh's Yogi Adityanath, Goa's Pramod Sawant, Gujarat's Bhupendra Patel, Chhattisgarh's Vishnu Deo Sai, Uttarakhand's Pushkar Singh Dhami, Assam's Himanta Biswa Sarma, Tripura's Manik Saha, Haryana's Nayab Singh Saini, and Rajasthan's Bhajan Lal Sharma were present at the swearing-in ceremony of Odisha's new Chief Minister, Mohan Majhi, and his council of ministers.
