Fatal incident at Hadagarh dam: College student drowns, another swept away
Bhubaneswar, June 12: A tragic incident unfolded at Hadagarh dam in Odisha's Keonjhar district on Wednesday, where a college student drowned and another went missing after being swept away in the Salandi river.
Sources reported that the mishap occurred while two youths, approximately 19 years old, were bathing in the reservoir at the dam on the Salandi river, within the jurisdiction of Soso police station in the district.
Accompanied by three others, the youths, hailing from Tihidi and Brapada areas of Bhadrak district, ventured to the dam for a bath. Unfortunately, while bathing, two of them were caught in the strong river current.
Following a search and rescue operation, one of the individuals was located and retrieved from the river. Tragically, he was found deceased. However, the other youth remains missing, and efforts are underway to locate him.
