Naveen visits hospitals, ensures top care for firecracker blast victims

Bhubaneswar, May 30: On Thursday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik visited a private hospital in Bhubaneswar to meet individuals who suffered burn injuries in the Puri firecracker explosion on Wednesday night. He checked on the injured patients, inquiring about their health and well-being, and spoke with senior doctors regarding the medical arrangements at the hospital.
The Chief Minister announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 4 lakh for the families of those who lost their lives in the incident.
A total of 36 people have been admitted to nine hospitals across Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and Puri. According to the latest reports, three patients succumbed to their injuries on Thursday morning.
All patients are receiving the best possible treatment, care, and support, with the state government covering the entire cost, including treatments in private hospitals. The government has assured that ex-gratia assistance will be provided to the injured and the families of the deceased.
In a media briefing in Puri, SP Pinak Mishra reported that many critically injured patients suffered from 70% to 80% burn injuries.
