Odisha gears up for final poll phase: 99.61 lakh voters to cast ballots

Bhubaneswar, May 30: Around 99.61 lakh voters are set to cast their ballots in the fourth and final phase of the simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Odisha on June 1, according to Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nikunja Bihari Dhal.
The electorate includes 50.88 lakh male voters, 48.72 lakh female voters, and 6,087 third-gender voters.
In this final phase, six Lok Sabha constituencies and their corresponding 42 Assembly segments will go to the polls. Voting will take place across 10,882 polling centers, with 14 booths exclusively managed by women.
Over 70,000 polling staff will be deployed for Phase IV of the elections. A total of 460 candidates are contesting in this phase, with 394 vying for Assembly seats and 66 contesting the six Lok Sabha constituencies: Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, and Jagatsinghpur.
Campaigning for the final phase concludes today, with leaders from various political parties making a last-minute push to garner support for their candidates.
