IMD forecasts higher temperatures for Odisha in coming days

Bhubaneswar, May 27: The threat of Severe Cyclonic Storm ‘Remal’ will not directly impact Odisha, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional office in Bhubaneswar. Consequently, day temperatures are expected to rise across the state starting Tuesday.
Manorama Mohanty, Director of the IMD's regional center, stated that maximum temperatures will increase by 2°C to 3°C from Tuesday onwards. Although heatwave conditions are not expected to return to Odisha soon, the state is unlikely to experience heavy rain or thunderstorms in the near future. However, some areas may see light to moderate rainfall over the coming week.
In the past 24 hours, moderate rainfall has been reported in some parts of Odisha. Rampur in Nayagarh district recorded the highest rainfall at 92.8 mm, while Rajnagar in Kendrapara district saw 78 mm of rain.
The IMD has forecast that these weather conditions will persist until May 31.
