Court grants extension as former MP Anubhav Mohanty fails to attend hearing

Cuttack, May 10: Ollywood actor-turned-politician Anubhav Mohanty did not appear in court today, as requested. The court had summoned Anubhav Mohanty, along with his two associates Sujit Dallei and Khagendra Prasad Sahu, regarding allegations of mental and physical abuse, threats, and other charges filed by Varsha Priyadarshini.
Sources indicate that Anubhav cited personal reasons for his absence and requested time to appear before the court through his legal representative. The court has granted an extension until Monday and has mandated Anubhav Mohanty and his associates to attend on that day.
Previously, the Cuttack JMFC Special Court dismissed Anubhav Mohanty's discharge petition, which claimed the absence of a legal basis for the case. The case, filed in 2020 at Purighat police station on behalf of Barsha, Varsha Priyadarshini's legal name, remains active.
The marital discord between Varsha Priyadarshini and Anubhav Mohanty has been a subject of public attention for some time. Earlier this year, in February, the celebrity couple was granted a divorce by the Family Court in Cuttack.
