Leopard attack claims life in Sambalpur

Bhubaneswar, May 10: Residents of Sahedi village in Sambalpur district were thrown into panic following reports of a leopard attack resulting in a fatality.
Shada Munda, a villager from Nakatideula Range of Rairakhol, reportedly fell victim to a leopard attack while collecting wood in the forest on Friday, according to sources.
When Munda failed to return home, his family launched a search and tragically discovered his mutilated body in the forest. Upon notification, forest department officials swiftly responded, recovering the body and arranging for a post-mortem examination.
An investigation has been initiated by the forest department into the incident.
This incident echoes a similar tragedy from last year in Nuapada district, where a 45-year-old woman, Rameswari Majhi from Silaribahara village near Sunabeda sanctuary, was fatally attacked by a leopard while attending to nature's call in a nearby forest.
