Bhubaneswar, May 9: In a startling development, reports have emerged of the seizure of a whopping Rs. 2 crores in cash from a businessman's residence in Bhubaneswar on Monday. According to sources, the Income Tax Department conducted a major raid in the Lakshmi Sagar area of Bhubaneswar, targeting the home of the said businessman.
The operation, spearheaded by the Deputy Director of the Income Tax Department in Bhubaneswar, resulted in the confiscation of over two crore rupees in cash. Reports indicate that the Additional Commissioner oversaw the raid, which involved multiple teams operating across various locations.
Questions have arisen regarding the substantial sum found during a time marked by elections. The businessman under scrutiny reportedly specializes in printing flex banners and posters for several political parties during election seasons.
