External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to campaign for BJP in Cuttack ahead of Odisha elections

Bhubaneswar, May 1: In anticipation of the forthcoming first-round elections in Odisha, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will lend his support to the BJP's campaign efforts in Cuttack on May 5.
BJP Cuttack MP candidate Bhartruhari Mahatab confirmed Jaishankar's participation in an event at the Nishamani Convention Hall in the city, emphasizing the significant backing from national leaders. Mahatab noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are also slated to bolster the party's presence in Odisha in the coming days.
Bhartruhari, a stalwart representing BJD in Cuttack since 1998, is vying for re-election from the parliamentary constituency, albeit under the BJP banner.
Earlier announcements from BJP Odisha unit vice president Golak Mohapatra revealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's plans to address two public rallies in the Berhampur and Nabarangpur parliamentary constituencies on May 6. This visit marks the second instance of a national leader from the saffron party visiting Berhampur in Ganjam district within eight days. The previous visit occurred on April 28 when BJP national president J P Nadda addressed a Vijay Sankalp Samavesh at Ambapua near Berhampur, following Union Minister Amit Shah's campaign kick-off in the state on April 25 from Sonepur.
