Dhenkanal bus blaze: 40 passengers safe after narrow escape
Dhenkanal, April 26: Nearly 40 passengers narrowly escaped a bus fire incident in Dhenkanal district on Friday. The bus, named Priyanshi, was en route from Angul to Bhubaneswar when it suddenly caught fire after passing through Dhenkanal near Anand Nagar on National Highway 55. Promptly sensing an unusual odor, the bus driver swiftly evacuated all passengers just before the vehicle became engulfed in flames.
Local residents alerted the Dhenkanal fire brigade, but upon their arrival, the fire had already engulfed the bus, causing extensive damage. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries reported among the passengers. While initial investigations suggest a possible short circuit as the cause, a detailed inquiry is ongoing.
The incident led to disruptions in vehicular services in the area.
