Mystery surrounds death of laborer found aboard ship at Paradip Port
Paradip, April 23: Tension escalated as the body of a laborer was discovered under puzzling circumstances aboard a foreign vessel docked at Odisha's Paradip port today. The deceased, identified as Bibhuti Barik from Badamba Narasinghpur area, was found under suspicious conditions.
While the exact cause of death remains undetermined, initial investigations suggest Barik may have suffocated inside the ship's hatch. Barik had been on night duty two days prior and was involved in post-unloading cleaning tasks. Given that his body was found over 30 hours later, suspicion arises that he may have been trapped due to the hatch being covered.
Concerns arise regarding how none of his fellow workers noticed the body despite frequent visits to the area. The police have initiated an investigation, and further details are awaited as the probe unfolds.
