Tragic collision claims two lives and leaves three critical in Balangir

Balangir, April 13: A devastating head-on collision between two motorcycles near Dhamandanga village in Balangir district resulted in two fatalities and left three individuals critically injured on Friday evening.
The deceased have been identified as Dhanurjay Jhankar from Pipal Munda village and Uttam Banchhor from Dangamara village.
Reportedly, Dhanurjay Jhankar and his companion Tularam Mallik were returning home from Kantabanji around 9:00 PM after completing some errands when the accident occurred. Their motorcycle collided head-on with another bike traveling in the opposite direction near Dhamandanga village, causing critical injuries to five individuals.
Local residents promptly rescued the injured and rushed them to the Government Hospital in Kantabanji. Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, Dhanurjay Jhankar and Uttam Banchhor succumbed to their injuries.
The condition of the remaining three individuals—Tularam Mallik, Pabitra Kanhar, and Abhi Banchhor— who were riding pillion, remains critical. Authorities have seized the bodies of the deceased for post-mortem examination.
