Speeding truck claims lives of three road repair workers in Bargarh

Bhubaneswar, April 11: Late Wednesday night, tragedy struck on the Sohela Raipur Road in Bargarh district as three contractual workers, engaged in road repair by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), lost their lives in a devastating accident. They were fatally struck by a speeding truck.
The identities of the deceased workers remain unknown at this time.
Sources indicate that the road repair work was underway near Luharachati on Raipur Road due to its deteriorating condition. The workers were diligently carrying out their tasks when a speeding truck plowed into them, leaving them fatally injured. The truck fled the scene immediately after the incident.
The bodies of the three laborers were discovered by locals on Thursday morning, prompting them to alert the authorities. Upon receiving information, the Sohela police swiftly responded to the scene and arranged for the bodies to undergo post-mortem examination.
As of now, the police are yet to locate the vehicle involved in the accident or apprehend its driver.
