IMD forecasts gradual temperature rise in Odisha over next three days

Bhubaneswar, April 9: According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the day temperatures in Odisha are anticipated to gradually increase by 2-4°C over the next three days, as north-westerly winds persist.
The recent occurrence of nor’wester-induced rain, thundershower, and lightning has led to a noticeable decrease in mercury levels across various regions, including Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, where temperatures have dipped below normal in recent days.
While no specific weather warnings have been issued for the state, the IMD predicts light to moderate rain or thundershowers in several areas. These include Nuapada, Bargarh, Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Kandhamal, and Kalahandi, as well as isolated areas in South Odisha, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, and Deogarh districts until 8:30 am on Wednesday. Additionally, light rain is expected in isolated areas of Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nuapada, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, and Nabarangpur over the next 24 hours.
Further forecasts indicate the likelihood of light rain in isolated areas of Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Balangir, Sonepur, Nuapada, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, and Rayagada on April 11.
