Woman leaps from bridge with baby in alleged domestic dispute
Kendrapara, April 5: A woman, allegedly embroiled in a dispute with her husband, leapt from Gadagadi bridge into Kharasrota river along with her 9-month-old baby girl on Friday.
The incident unfolded as the couple, residents of Khandola village under Aul police jurisdiction, were returning from Dalikainda village in an auto. Amidst an altercation, the woman halted the auto on the bridge, seizing her daughter before plunging into the river. Her husband, in a bid to rescue them, followed suit.
Thankfully, locals spotted the trio and intervened, successfully rescuing all three individuals. They were promptly admitted to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Aul and later transferred to the District Headquarters Hospital for further medical attention.
