Police bust illegal gun manufacturing unit, nab culprit in Raikia
Kandhamal, April 1: Raikia Police on Monday made a significant breakthrough by dismantling a clandestine gun manufacturing operation and apprehending a young individual involved in the illicit production of country-made firearms.
The accused, identified as Munibar Mallick hailing from Rasiguda village, was found in possession of a country-made gun and materials intended for the manufacturing process.
According to sources, Munibar had previously faced arrest in 2019 on identical charges and had served time in jail. However, upon his release, he resumed his illegal activities, engaging in the manufacturing and distribution of firearms to various districts.
Following a tip-off, law enforcement authorities swiftly moved to raid Munibar's residence, successfully apprehending him in the act.
