Angul : In a disturbing discovery, the bodies of an elderly woman and her unmarried son were found in their home under mysterious circumstances this morning in Bhaludhari village of Balaramprasad, within Nalco police limits in Angul district.

The deceased woman, identified as Draupadi Sahu, aged around 65, was found lying lifeless on the ground with her throat slit, suggesting a violent end. Her son, Ranjit Sahu, was discovered hanging in the same house, indicating a tragic suicide.

Upon receiving the report, local police swiftly arrived at the scene, securing the premises and confiscating the bodies. A case has been registered, and authorities have initiated a thorough investigation into the incident.

SDPO Ratnakar Mahalik confirmed that the bodies have been transferred to a nearby hospital for post-mortem examinations to ascertain the exact cause of death. Additionally, a scientific team has been deployed to aid the local police in their inquiries. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to uncover the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
