IMD issues yellow warning for thunderstorms in Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar, March 27: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning indicating the likelihood of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty surface winds, ranging from 30-40 kmph, in certain districts of Odisha over the next two days.
According to the midday bulletin, light rainfall may occur in isolated areas of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Bhadrak districts until Thursday morning, followed by a resumption of precipitation on March 30 after a two-day dry spell.
On March 30, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds are anticipated in isolated areas of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Balasore districts. Additionally, light to moderate rainfall or thundershowers may occur in isolated places within the same districts.
Moving to March 31, the IMD predicts thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds in isolated areas of Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Angul, and Jharsuguda districts. Similarly, light to moderate rainfall or thundershowers may occur in isolated areas within these districts.
Following these weather patterns, dry weather is expected to prevail thereafter. Furthermore, the IMD forecasts a gradual increase in daytime temperatures by 2-3 degrees Celsius over the next three days, along with a corresponding rise in nighttime temperatures by 2-3 degrees Celsius over the next two days.
