Security forces discover Naxal arms workshop in Koraput

Bhubaneswar, March 25: In a significant development, security personnel uncovered a Naxal arms workshop nestled within the jungle near Alasi village, situated under the jurisdiction of Sunki police limits in Koraput district. The operation took place on Sunday and was carried out by the BSF Anti-Naxalite Deployment Party (ADP).
According to an official press release, the seizure included a country-made gun, a mobile phone with a SIM card, two knives, a hand blower, a trigger mechanism, two pliers, two hammers, a hacksaw, sodium barocide weighing 30 grams, iron bits, and other related equipment.
The encounter unfolded as the ADP conducted routine patrols near Alasi village, encountering two suspicious individuals within the jungle. Upon realizing the presence of the BSF ADP, the suspects hastily fled towards the Andhra border. Subsequently, security forces meticulously combed the area, leading to the discovery of the Naxal arms workshop and the confiscation of the aforementioned items.
In response to the incident, an FIR has been lodged at the Sunki police station. The BSF-ADP has duly handed over all seized materials to the Sunki police station for further investigation.
