Balasore, March 25: In a devastating incident in Balasore, Odisha, a young man and his father lost their lives when the concrete wall of a house collapsed on them on Monday. The victims, identified as Sheikh Samiruddin and his son Sheikh Arif, were tragically buried under the debris while resting near a house in Paschimabada under Jaleswar police limits.

Reports indicate that Samiruddin, along with his wife Asima Biwi and son Sheikh Arif, had gone to collect stone chips from roads in the area when the fatal accident occurred. Seeking respite, they took shelter near the house of Samiruddin's brother, unaware of the impending danger posed by the deteriorating wall.

Upon hearing their desperate cries for help, the family members of the house rushed to their aid. With the assistance of local residents, they managed to extricate the victims from the rubble and rushed them to a nearby hospital.

Tragically, despite efforts to save them, Samiruddin was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital, while his son Arif succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Asima Biwi, the wife and mother of the deceased, sustained severe injuries in the mishap and is currently in critical condition.
