Police deploy 15 platoons, enhance surveillance for incident-free Holi in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, March 24: The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police has unveiled a series of measures aimed at ensuring a safe and incident-free Holi celebration this year. Bhubaneswar's Deputy Commissioner of Police, Prateek Singh, announced the deployment of 15 platoons of police forces throughout the capital city to preempt any untoward incidents during the festival.
Furthermore, to maintain public order, 31 static posts will be established at various locations in Bhubaneswar, complemented by 17 patrolling vehicles in addition to PCR vans. Singh also highlighted the reinforcement of the control room with additional personnel for enhanced surveillance and coordination.
Emphasizing heightened surveillance, Singh mentioned the utilization of CCTV cameras, ensuring swift action in response to any incidents.
"We are adamant about maintaining order during Holi. Rigorous checks for intoxicated driving will be conducted," Singh affirmed.
Given the ongoing enforcement of the model code of conduct for general elections, special permissions will be required for hosting parties at hotels and other venues. Organizers are mandated to inform local police stations regarding guest lists and the use of loudspeakers for such events.
