In response to the worsening condition of ten patients, they have been transferred to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR).
The Medical Officer In-Charge of Hirakud CHC reported that within the last two days, a total of 127 individuals have been afflicted with diarrhoea in the area.

Additionally, a mobile health unit is closely monitoring the situation to prevent further spread of the disease. Residents in affected areas are advised to consume boiled water.
This incident echoes a similar diarrhoea outbreak in Hirakud six months ago, which was also traced back to the consumption of contaminated water.
