Naveen announces Industrial Police Station for Mendhasala

Bhubaneswar, March 16: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has taken a significant step to address the evolving needs of the Mendhasala area under Bhubaneswar Urban police, announcing the elevation of the police outpost in Mendhasal to an Industrial Police Station.
Mendhasala, recognized as a burgeoning industrial hub, hosts numerous national-level public and private educational and industrial institutions such as IIIT, NALCO R&D Centre, Birla Global University, and GIET. With the area witnessing a surge in population and residential colonies, this upgrade aims to enhance security and law enforcement measures.
The newly established police station will encompass four gram panchayats and one ward of BMC, covering an extensive area of 150 square kilometers with a population of approximately one lakh.
To support the operational effectiveness of the upgraded station, 34 new positions will be created. Currently staffed with five personnel, including one sub-inspector and four constables, the station will see an expansion to include an Inspector, four sub-inspectors, six ASIs, two havildars, and 21 constables. Additionally, two posts will be filled from the SP Police Motor Training Institute, bringing the total staff count to 41 officers and personnel.
