Odisha raises minimum wage for workers across four categories

Bhubaneswar, March 14: In a move aimed at improving the livelihoods of workers, the Odisha government, led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, announced a hike in the minimum wage across four categories on Thursday.
As per the Chief Minister's announcement, the revised minimum wage for unskilled workers sees an increase from Rs 352 to Rs 450, while semi-skilled workers will now receive Rs 500, up from Rs 392. Skilled workers' minimum wage has been raised from Rs 442 to Rs 550, and highly-skilled workers will now earn a minimum wage of Rs 600, up from Rs 502.
This decision is expected to positively impact a significant number of workers across both public and private sectors in the state, offering them improved financial stability and better opportunities for livelihood.
