Odisha Government raises monthly pay for junior teachers

Bhubaneswar, March 13: The Odisha Government has approved a raise in the monthly salary of junior teachers serving in primary and upper primary schools across the state. As per a statement from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), those who have completed three years in their respective positions will now receive Rs 20,000 per month instead of the previous Rs 13,800.
Responding to the varied demands of junior teachers, the government has taken this decision to enhance their monthly remuneration. This increase will be retroactively effective from January 1, 2023, benefiting 12,784 junior teachers currently employed in the state. The adjustment will require an additional expenditure of Rs 95 crore annually.
During the visit of 5T Chairman Kartik Pandian to various districts, junior teachers from different regions of the state voiced their concerns and demands, drawing attention to their plight.
