Odisha CM launches 'Mo Bus' service in Sambalpur and Berhampur

Bhubaneswar, March 9: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik unveiled the 'Mo Bus' service in Sambalpur and Berhampur on Saturday, marking a significant step towards enhanced urban transportation.
The inaugural fleet comprises 15 buses allocated to each city, with designated routes aimed at improving connectivity. In Sambalpur, the Mo Bus will traverse the Sambalpur-Burla-Hirakud route, while in Berhampur, it will serve the MKCG Medical College-Engineering School-Railway Station-Berhampur University route.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister emphasized the pivotal role of robust communication networks in fostering prosperity. He highlighted the transformative impact of the 5T initiative on the state's transport landscape, citing Mo Bus alongside other initiatives like LAccMI Yojana and Metro Rail Yojana as integral to Odisha's development agenda.
Patnaik underscored the convenience and affordability of the Mo Bus service, noting its integration with the 'Mo Bus Card Tap and Pay' facility, available in both cash and digital modes. Emphasizing passenger safety, he revealed that 90 percent of Mo Bus conductors in Sambalpur are women, affirming the service's commitment to inclusivity and security.
Looking ahead, the Chief Minister announced plans to expand the Mo Bus service to all urban centers across the state, ensuring accessible and secure transit options for residents.
The program was coordinated by Kartik Pandian, Chairman of 5T and Nabin Odisha.
