Security to be enhanced statewide for President Droupadi Murmu's Odisha tour

Bhubaneswar : In anticipation of President Droupadi Murmu's four-day visit to Odisha starting February 28, heightened security measures will be implemented across the state. Apart from Bhubaneswar, the President is slated to visit Cuttack, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, and Berhampur during her itinerary.
Bhubaneswar's Deputy Commissioner of Police, Prateek Singh, disclosed plans for the capital city's security, indicating the deployment of 30 police platoons overseen by 85 officers. This includes 12 Additional Deputy Commissioners, 25 Assistant Commissioners, and 40 Police Inspectors. The security detail further encompasses 3 Quick Response Teams and 2 Special Tactical Units.
Security protocols, outlined in the Blue Book, dictate comprehensive arrangements from route lining to traffic and parking management. The entire capital city is poised to transform into a fortified police zone, with venue-specific guest lists adhering to protocol guidelines. Singh emphasized efforts to minimize traffic disruptions, ensuring both the smooth passage of the President's convoy and the convenience of the public.
