Bhubaneswar : Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft, is set to visit Odisha on February 28 to assess the functioning of the Krushi Samiksha Kendra at Krushi Bhavan in Bhubaneswar.

Operated with support from the Bill Gates Foundation, the Krushi Samiksha Kendra plays a pivotal role in providing essential integrated farming information to farmers. During his stay, Gates will evaluate the center's impact on farmer development.

Prem Chandra Chaudhary, Director of the Odisha Agriculture Department, described the Kendra as an innovative project in the country, emphasizing Gates' interest in witnessing its contribution to farmers' progress.

Ahead of Gates' visit, representatives from his office held discussions with Arabinda Padhee, Principal Secretary of the Agriculture Department, during a visit to Krushi Bhavan.

It's worth noting that the Bill Gates Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Odisha government in 2021, underscoring their collaborative efforts.
