Puri Srimandir Parikrama Project inaugurated by CM Naveen Patnaik

Puri, Jan 17: On Wednesday, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik officially launched the ambitious Puri Srimandir Parikrama Project, a venture valued at Rs 800 crore. The inauguration took place at a modest ceremony marked by the resonating chants of hymns.
Arriving at the venue in an electric vehicle, the Chief Minister was accompanied by 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman VK Pandian. The reception included a warm welcome from Gajapati King Dibyasingha Deb. Patnaik, during the ceremony, unveiled a plaque symbolizing the dedication of the newly constructed Srimandir Parikrama to the devout followers.
Following the inauguration, Gajapati King Dibyasingha Deb initiated the 'Purna Ahuti' as part of the three-day Maha Yajna, which commenced on Monday as a prelude to the grand event. Subsequently, the Chief Minister, along with Pandian, Gajapati King, distinguished guests, and representatives of various cultural troupes, participated in a procession along the heritage corridor.
A multitude of devotees flocked to Puri to witness the inauguration of the Srimandir Parikrama. Stringent security measures, involving the deployment of 80 police platoons, were put in place to ensure the safety of VIPs and devotees, uphold law and order, and manage traffic throughout the event. The Puri district administration augmented security with the installation of 500 CCTV cameras across the Pilgrim City for the inaugural ceremony.
