IPS Officer Ghanashyam Upadhyay elevated to Additional Director General of Police

IPS Officer Ghanashyam Upadhyay elevated to Additional Director General of Police

Bhubaneswar, Dec 29: Ghanashyam Upadhyay, a seasoned IPS officer from the 1999 batch, has been promoted to the prestigious rank of Additional Director General of Police. Currently, he is on central deputation.


In a parallel development, 18 other IPS officers have also received promotions to various ranks. Notably, five IPS officers from the Odisha cadre have been elevated to the position of Inspector General (IG) of Police. Among them, Anup Kumar Sahoo (2006 batch) has earned the rank of IG Police.


Additionally, four officers presently on central deputation—Amrita Dash, Anirudha Kumar Singh, Anoop Krishna, and Sudha Singh—all belonging to the 2006 batch, have been granted promotions to the rank of IG Police, as per a notification issued by the General Administration department.


Further promotions include three officers from the 2010 batch—Mitrabhanu Mahapatra, Sarah Sharma, and Kanwar Vishal Singh—who have now attained the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG).


IPS officers Pinak Mishra, Banoth Jugal Kishore Kumar, Battula Gangadhar, Rahul Jain, Sarvana Vivek, Kusalkar Nitin Dagdu, and Pratyush Diwaker have been promoted to the Selection Grade within the IPS.
