Bhubaneswar, Dec 28: ORMAS will host the annual Sisir Saras Mela in Bhubaneswar from January 6 to 15, featuring approximately 400 stalls operated by women self-help groups, producers' groups, and enterprises from 26 states. The stalls will exhibit a diverse range of handicrafts, handloom, and spice products.

The venue for the fair is set at the Biju Patnaik Playground in Baramunda.

This year, a special food court comprising 20 stalls and a thematic display illustrating ORMAS activities, encompassing marketing, livelihood, and skill development, will be introduced. Additionally, there are plans for battery-powered rides catering to senior citizens and differently-abled individuals, along with a dedicated kids' zone.

Concerted efforts will be made to minimize the use of polythene during the fair. In 2023, Bhubaneswar hosted the Sisir Saras Mela along with mini Pallishree melas across 30 districts. The collective business turnover from the fair amounted to Rs 75 crore.
