Odisha Vigilance arrests IDCO Chief General Manager on DA charges

Bhubaneswar, Dec 27: On Wednesday, Odisha Vigilance apprehended Saroj Kanta Mohanty, Chief General Manager (P&A) of IDCO, for allegedly possessing disproportionate assets (DA) amounting to 153 percent more than his known sources of income, which he failed to justify satisfactorily.
An official press release stated that Mohanty has been presented before the court. Vigilance has filed a case against Mohanty, an OAS officer, and his spouse under section 13(2) read with 13(1)(b) and 12 of the PC Amendment Act, 2018, in connection with the case.
During house searches, anti-graft agency officials uncovered significant movable and immovable assets registered in the name of Mohanty and his family members. These assets include a triple-storied building in Mahanadi Vihar, Nayabazar, Cuttack (approx. 6200 sqft); a double-storied building in Brahmabarada, Dharmasala, Jajpur (approx. 3300 sqft); a 3BHK flat in Amrita Alayam, Sailashree Vihar, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar; another 3BHK flat in Metro Green Woods, Baranga, Cuttack; 10 plots, with 7 in prime areas of Bhubaneswar & Cuttack; gold jewelry weighing 703.38 gms and silver weighing 869 gms; bank, insurance, and postal deposits exceeding Rs 70.55 lakh; and cash, a Maruti Baleno, 2 two-wheelers, and household articles valued at over Rs 20.88 lakh.
