Minimum temperatures experience significant rise in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Dec 25: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported a substantial increase in nighttime temperatures across various locations in Odisha over the last 24 hours, accompanied by dense fog causing disruptions to normal life.
Koraput emerged as the coldest spot in the state, registering a temperature of 6.5°C. Other regions such as Sundargarh, Keonjhar, and Phulbani experienced minimum temperatures around 10°C. Additional places, including G Udayagiri (7.5°C), Semiliguda (8.5°C), and Daringbadi (8.0°C), witnessed nighttime temperatures hovering around or below 10°C. Numerous parts of Odisha recorded minimum temperatures below 15°C.
In the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, minimum temperatures were reported at 16°C and 15.5°C, respectively.
The IMD highlighted that moderate to dense fog enveloped most areas in Odisha during the early hours of Monday, causing disruptions to regular activities. The weather forecast indicates a gradual increase in nighttime temperatures in the coming days, although the winter chill is expected to persist.
