Naveen launches LAccMI Bus Yojana in Koraput

Bhubaneswar, Dec 14: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik unveiled the LAccMI Bus Yojana in Koraput district on Thursday.
A fleet of 63 buses will establish connectivity across 234 Panchayats in Koraput, providing transportation benefits to over 13 lakh residents. The initiative, initially introduced in Malkangiri district under the 5T initiative, facilitates bus services from Panchayats to blocks in every district at a nominal fare of Rs 5. Over 1,000 Laxmi buses will be deployed statewide, operated by members of Mission Shakti, as per official sources.
During the launch, Chief Minister Patnaik highlighted that the LAccMI bus service's first phase, commencing in Malkangiri and reaching Koraput, aims to eliminate transportation challenges for the residents. The initial phase covered six districts—Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Gajapati, and Koraput—benefiting over 63 lakh people across 1131 Panchayats. The Chief Minister emphasized that this initiative would alleviate daily transportation concerns, providing an affordable commuting option for the public.
The scheme was initiated in response to transportation challenges observed by CMO officials during district visits.
