Cold nights in Odisha: G Udayagiri shivers as temperature hits 7°C

Bhubaneswar, Dec 14: G Udayagiri in Odisha's Kandhamal district experienced a significant drop in temperature to 7 degrees Celsius in the past 24 hours, as reported by the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre on Thursday.
Nighttime temperatures lingered around 10 degrees Celsius at seven other locations in the state, with Kirei in Sundargarh, Phulbani, and Daringbadi in Kandhamal registering 9°C each. Following closely were Keonjhar (10.2), Koraput (10.4), Sundargarh (10.6), and Semiliguda, also in Sundargarh district, at 10.7°C.
Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, the twin cities, recorded temperatures of 15.5°C each. The weather agency predicts a further dip in the mercury in the state capital, expecting it to reach 14°C in the coming days.
Dense fog enveloped Koraput, Phulbani, and Rourkela, with a visibility level of 50 meters. Shallow to moderate fog was observed in Keonjhar as well.
The Meteorological office also forecasted shallow to moderate fog during morning hours in Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Koraput districts over the next two days.
