Two killed as car and truck collide in Sundargarh
Sundargarh, Dec 13: A fatal collision occurred on Wednesday in Odisha's Sundargarh district, claiming the lives of two individuals involved in a car-truck accident.
Reports indicate that Rikas Nayak from Kulba village and Birendra Mahanandia from Telendihi were traveling in the car when it collided with a truck approaching from the opposite direction at Barhakhai, under the jurisdiction of the Lefripada police station, during the afternoon. Tragically, both Nayak and Mahanandia succumbed to the impact at the scene, while the truck driver fled.
Upon receiving information from locals, the police promptly arrived at the accident site, and the bodies were sent for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway. Authorities are actively pursuing the search for the absconding truck driver.
