Five arrested in connection with assault death of Indian Army Jawan

Berhampur, Dec 8: In the aftermath of the tragic death of an Indian Army jawan due to an assault, the police in Odisha's Ganjam district have apprehended five individuals for their suspected involvement in the incident.
Ganjam SP Jagmohan Meena, addressing the media on Friday, disclosed that the Chamakhandi police have arrested J Kalyani Patra, CH Sekhar, and B Cheneya from Kalipalli village, along with B Bulu Patra and CH Biki Kumar Patra from Nimakhandi.
The arrests were made in connection with the demise of Army jawan J Dileshwar Patra. The police also reported the confiscation of two motorcycles and two mobile phones from the accused individuals.
According to the FIR filed, the jawan, identified as J Dileshwar from Kalipalli village under Chamakhandi police station, was on leave from his posting in Durgapur, West Bengal. He was allegedly attacked by miscreants while returning home from Gopalpur after attending a cricket match. The incident reportedly occurred at Haripur in Chamakhandi.
