Odisha Private Bus Owners' Association cancels proposed strike

Bhubaneswar, Nov 29: The All Odisha Private Bus Owners’ Association has officially withdrawn the proposed bus strike scheduled for December 1 after a meeting with Transport Minister Tukuni Sahu.

Association secretary Debendra Sahu conveyed this decision, expressing gratitude to the government for adhering to assurances and refraining from operating buses in three districts. Sahu hopes for a similar commitment in other districts and appreciates the government's openness to resolving issues through dialogue.

Transport Minister Tukuni Sahu acknowledged the fruitful outcome of discussions, noting the association's cooperation and endorsement of the LAccMI (Location Accessible Multimodal Initiative) scheme. The government aims to address owners' concerns and ensure a smooth transition for their businesses.

The proposed indefinite strike, initially planned to oppose the LAccMI scheme and demand restrictions on government bus services, has been successfully averted through collaborative discussions.
