Cuttack, Nov 24: The Cyber Police in Cuttack on Thursday apprehended a young man, Dinesh Kumar Sethi, for allegedly engaging in the blackmail of more than 100 girls and women. His modus operandi involved creating manipulated and explicit photos of the victims, which he then posted on social media using fake identities.

The accused, Dinesh, was presented in a local court on the same day. Dinesh initiated contact with girls and women on various social media platforms, including Instagram, where he would acquire their phone numbers. 

Armed with this information, he downloaded the victim's profile photo and proceeded to set up a counterfeit social media account in her name. Subsequently, he posted the manipulated and inappropriate images on the fake account.

As per the police report, the perpetrator would then extort money from the victims, threatening to delete the morphed photos from the social media platforms. It has been revealed that he successfully blackmailed a minimum of 100 girls and women using this method.
