Minor boy dies after being hit by train while making social media reel in Odisha
Bhubaneswar, Oct 10: A minor boy died after being hit by a train while reportedly making a social media reel on the railway track along the Khordha-Balangir railway line in Odisha.
The deceased was a resident of Talupali village under Baunsuni police station limits. The tragic incident reportedly took place on Tuesday evening when the boy was filming a reel near the railway track.
According to reports, the minor had earlier drawn attention on social media for making a reel while lying beneath a train. Following that incident, police had reportedly warned his family about the dangers associated with such risky activities. However, the boy allegedly continued engaging in dangerous acts while creating social media content.
After receiving information about the incident, Baunsuni police reached the spot and recovered the body. An investigation has been initiated to establish the exact circumstances leading to the boy’s death.
The incident has once again raised concerns over the growing trend of risking personal safety to create attention-grabbing videos for social media platforms. Railway tracks are extremely dangerous places, and attempting stunts or filming content near moving trains can have fatal consequences.
The tragedy serves as a reminder that no online popularity, likes or views are worth risking a life. Public awareness about railway safety and responsible social media use remains crucial to preventing similar incidents.
