Significance of the reshuffle
The new structure represents a broad organisational exercise by Nitin Nabin, combining senior leaders with younger organisational figures and giving representation to a wide range of states and social groups. The inclusion of Ram Madhav as a national vice-president and Smriti Irani as a general secretary, particularly with charge of Uttar Pradesh, are among the most prominent features of the reshuffle.
The BJP's new national organisation is expected to play a central role in strengthening the party's grassroots network and preparing its election machinery for the upcoming electoral cycle.
